The Digital Media Library is the National Heritage Institute’s online document database.
It offers professionals, researchers, students and heritage enthusiasts unique access to specialised digital resources produced and collected by the INP.
Users can carry out free-text or thematic searches (conservation and restoration, cultural dissemination and outreach, cultural heritage management, art history, research, materials science) and refine their queries by keywords, date, location or type of intervention.
Degree theses (1982 to the present)
The theses written by heritage conservators focus on objects or works of art from public collections.
They demonstrate the students’ ability to propose an exemplary conservation approach, based on:
- an analysis of the historical, iconographic and museographic context,
- an assessment of the object’s heritage value and state of deterioration,
- an in-depth technical and scientific study.
The printed versions of the dissertations remain available for consultation at the INP library, by appointment.

Conservation reports
These documents — in the form of fact sheets or files — generally include:
- a condition report and assessment,
- a proposed treatment plan and progress report,
- additional studies and analyses (scientific imaging, chemical analyses, material observations).
They provide a detailed understanding of the object’s physical nature, its material history (previous restorations, deterioration) and the techniques employed.
Only some of the reports are available online; the paper collection can be consulted at the library, by appointment.
