Throughout their training, students studying to become conservators and restorers can benefit from a scholarship at various stages of their journey: whilst preparing for the conservators’ entrance examination through the ‘Prépa Talents’ programme, or for the restorers’ entrance examination through the ‘Égalité des chances’ programme; during their training course to become heritage restorers; and, once they have graduated, with the opportunity to pursue research abroad. Various patrons support and encourage them in their projects.
Crédit Agricole Île-de-France
Crédit Agricole Île-de-France Mécénat was one of the first sponsors to support the INP in its activities, by funding the purchase of state-of-the-art equipment used by students in the workshops and laboratory of the conservation department. The group shares this same commitment to preserving works of art in public collections by supporting the training of young heritage conservators.
Fondation Carnot
Each year, the Carnot Foundation supports curators and conservators who have graduated from the INP and wish to undertake a research project abroad. The research carried out with the aid of the scholarship must result in a publication upon completion of the stay and a report submitted to the Foundation.
French Heritage Society
French Heritage Society is dedicated to protecting France’s architectural and cultural heritage, with a focus on fundraising for conservation, restoration and education. The FHS offers scholarships to students on the restoration course who wish to undertake a work placement in the United States.
Fondation Lazard Frères Gestion
The Lazard Frères Gestion Foundation aims to promote the preservation of tangible heritage through the restoration and presentation of works of art, as well as to promote heritage through education and research. The foundation supports the work carried out by fifth-year restoration students at the INP.
Fondation Mérimée
Since 2008, the Mérimée Foundation has been working to safeguard and ensure the long-term preservation of historic monuments and their surroundings, primarily by awarding financial grants to students or individuals undertaking projects. Each year, the Foundation awards grants, with the support of Artémis Domaines, its institutional patron, as well as all its donors and patrons – AXA Mutuelles, the Belle Main Foundation, Patrice Besse, Dassault Histoire et Patrimoine, Dendrotech, the French Heritage Society, the Hédelin-Durif Foundation, the François Sommer Foundation, MDB Métiers du Bois, SLA Verspieren (Dominique de la Fouchardière) and Sotheby’s France – awards several grants to final-year students in the Restoration Department at the INP.
Fondation Bleustein-Blanchet
Established in 1959, the Marcel-Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation is a private organisation, recognised as being of public benefit, dedicated to encouraging all career paths and to helping young people aged between 18 and 30 who, due to a lack of material and personal support, are held back in their efforts to fulfil their potential in their chosen profession.
Fondation Culture & Diversité
The Culture & Diversity Foundation helps candidates prepare for the INP’s external competitive examinations for heritage curators and conservators by providing them with financial and personal support during their preparation. Students may also be eligible for housing assistance or emergency grants during their course.
