Training of cultural heritage curators

Curator students are admitted following a competitive entrance examination.

Their training, organized in partnership with the Institut national des études territoriales (Centre national de la fonction publique territoriale - French territorial public service) and the City of Paris, is common to the future curators of the State, the City of Paris and local authorities. It is devoted to the acquisition of professional skills necessary for the exercise of the profession “heritage curator”.

This 18-month course combines theory, practical seminars and internships in a professional environment, in France and abroad.

Research is encouraged during the training of curator students. One day a week is set aside for students to continue their own specific work preparation. They are also invited to plan and prepare a joint scientific project in the form of a one-day study course, as well as artistic and cultural education activities.
