China

The Institute has been forging academic, cultural, and educational cooperation links with China since 2003, within the framework of several agreements and with the active support of the French Embassy.

A few dates

2021: Organisation of a conference on the theme of Thinking about Heritage in the People's Republic of China: history and cultural practices in the service of the nation over the long term, with Caroline Bodolec, research fellow at the CNRS, and Philipp Demgenski, post-doctoral student at the EHESS.

2019: Participation of student conservator-restorers, supervised by Claudia Sindaco, conservator-restorer and assistant head of the painting speciality in the Department of conservator-restorers, and Anne Jacquin, conservator-restorer specialising in lacquer, in the restoration field-school of the Gongshutang temple in Shaanxi province. 

2018: Organisation of a training course on ‘museum management in the 21st century’, in partnership with the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers - Musée des Arts et Métiers, for Chinese museum directors and representatives of the Huaxia Foundation.

2017: Publication in Patrimoine n°13, the Inp’s journal, of a feature on the heritage of the People's Republic of China

2006: Cooperation between the Institute and the China National Institute of Cultural Property (CNICP) for the conservation of two major ensembles in China, a monumental cast-iron lion from Cangzhou in Hubei province and cave paintings from Huashan in Guangxi province.

2003 - 2010: A succession of three-year Franco-Chinese cooperation agreements signed for the training of Chinese heritage professionals in association with the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts in Guangzhou.
