Summer 2026: finalisation of the draft handbook on the identification and conservation of Chinese papers in French public collections, leading to a partnership between the INP and the C2RMF. Ideally, set aside one page (Pauline could perhaps draw up a proposal)

June 2026: participation by representatives from the INP in the International Dunhuang Programme conference, hosted by the National Library and the Guimet National Museum of Asian Arts; the Dunhuang Academy, which is hosting a student conservator on a work placement, was represented.

May 2026: the INP took part in a meeting organised by the Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine, bringing together Chinese and French cultural heritage stakeholders to discuss heritage cooperation in Shaanxi.

Spring 2026: Publication of the trilingual glossary produced in partnership with the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage : more

February to July 2026: Internship for a student conservator specialising in painting at the Dunhuang Academy in Gansu.

May 2025: Participation in International Museum Day organised by ICOM China in Xi’an, and in the opening ceremony for the extension to the Forest of Steles Museum.

Spring 2025: Hosting of a curator from the Stele Forest Museum at the INP for a training programme and a series of meetings with French institutions (the Guimet Museum, the Cernuschi Museum, the BnF, and the Museum of Decorative Arts).

November 2024: Organisation of a two-week exchange programme on stone conservation and restoration. Held from 4 to 15 November for 23 Chinese participants, this programme was designed for the Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage, which brought together a delegation representing numerous provinces across China.

October 2024: Second Franco-Chinese training workshop at the Gongshu Temple. Launched with the support of the French Embassy and as part of the cooperation initiative led by the Fondation des sciences du patrimoine (FSP), this second edition of the project – which began in 2019 – took place in two phases. The first phase consisted of a joint training programme on the subject of timber, delivered by experts from the Shaanxi Institute for Heritage Protection, the INP, the CNRS, the Centre for Research and Restoration of French Museums (C2RMF) and the Research Laboratory for Historic Monuments (LRMH). The training then took place on site.

September 2024: Organisation of an INP training course for the Huaxia Foundation in Shenzhen on museum education

July 2024: Signing of an agreement between the INP and the Forest of Steles Museum in Xi’an on the study and promotion of the stamping technique, as well as the conservation of stamped artefacts in collections

November 2022: The INP took part in an online seminar organised by Northwest Polytechnic University, Xi’an, on the contribution of science to conservation and restoration

2021: Organisation of a conference on the theme of Thinking about Heritage in the People's Republic of China: history and cultural practices in the service of the nation over the long term, with Caroline Bodolec, research fellow at the CNRS, and Philipp Demgenski, post-doctoral student at the EHESS.

2019: Participation of student conservator-restorers, supervised by Claudia Sindaco, conservator-restorer and assistant head of the painting speciality in the Department of conservator-restorers, and Anne Jacquin, conservator-restorer specialising in lacquer, in the restoration field-school of the Gongshutang temple in Shaanxi province. 

2018: Organisation of a training course on ‘museum management in the 21st century’, in partnership with the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers - Musée des Arts et Métiers, for Chinese museum directors and representatives of the Huaxia Foundation.

2017: Publication in Patrimoine n°13, the Inp’s journal, of a feature on the heritage of the People's Republic of China

2006: Cooperation between the Institute and the China National Institute of Cultural Property (CNICP) for the conservation of two major ensembles in China, a monumental cast-iron lion from Cangzhou in Hubei province and cave paintings from Huashan in Guangxi province.

2003 - 2010: A succession of three-year Franco-Chinese cooperation agreements signed for the training of Chinese heritage professionals in association with the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts in Guangzhou.
