Morocco

The Institute has been working on projects with Morocco since 2005. Its activities take the form of hosting Moroccan professionals on continuing education courses or longer training courses, particularly as part of the 18-month international diploma course for heritage curation, sending students from the Institute in a number of Moroccan cultural institutions, and running training courses and field-schools.

A few dates

2022-2023: With the support of AFD/Expertise France, the Fondation Nationale des Musées  of the Kingdom of Morocco (FNM) asked the Inp to design a hybrid training course, online and in Morocco, to help African professionals improve their skills in the conservation and material management of collections while promoting a cross-disciplinary approach to heritage issues.

2017: Signing of a partnership agreement with the Fondation Nationale des Musées du Maroc (FNM), Mohammed V University in Rabat, the Institut National des Sciences de l'Archéologie et du Patrimoine, the Musée des Civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée (MuCEM) and the Institut Français du Maroc to train Moroccan heritage professionals.

2012: Training sessions organised in Morocco as part of the Institut Méditerranéen des Métiers du Patrimoine (I2MP).

2009-2010: Implementation of a training programme for a network of museums grouped around the Musée National de la Résistance et de l'Armée de Libération (Rabat) on the themes of scientific and cultural projects, museography and preventive conservation. Assessment was completed in November, with implementation scheduled for 2010.

2008-2009: Graduates of INSAP's "Museology" speciality were hosted for a 9-month practical placement in conservation-restoration in the "Earthenware and Glassware " and "Sculpture" specialities.

2007:Organisation of a preventive conservation field school on the collections of the Rabat archaeological museum. Hosting Moroccan students on a long-term conservation-restoration course.

2005: Signing of a partnership with the Institut National des Sciences de l'Archéologie et du Patrimoine (INSAP) and the Moroccan Ministry of Culture to train curators and conservator-restorers.
