Côte d'Ivoire

As part of the repatriation of the Djidji Ayokwe drum, the National Heritage Institute is helping to train staff at the Museum of Civilisations of Côte d’Ivoire (MCCI) in collaboration with Expertise France. The INP was invited to the handover ceremony on 20 February 2026 at the Musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac, attended by the Ministers of Culture from both countries.

Quelques dates

July 2026: Training on the relocation of collections at the Museum of Civilisations of Côte d’Ivoire

February–April 2026: Training in preventive conservation and condition assessment

March 2026: Return of the Djidji Ayowke talking drum by France to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire.

October 2025: A delegation of Ivorian professionals is welcomed to Paris for a supplementary training programme.

2025–2026: Five training sessions are held at the Museum of Civilisations of Côte d’Ivoire (inventory, storage management, preventive conservation).

Since March 2025: Participation in a two-year training programme run in collaboration with Expertise France.
